Modified Freiberg Piriformis Test
This video demonstrates one test to look for tightness of the Piriformis muscle. With the patient lying prone, passively bend the knees to 90 degrees and then let the patient’s feet fall passively to the side (ie. thigh falls into passive internal rotation). This provides you with a good visualization of any obvious asymmetries in internal rotation from side to side (i.e. possibly due to Piriformis tightness).
